I am an
artist and poet living on a farm in Gloucestershire with a husband,
two children, two dogs, a cat and a horse. Brought up in a
Christian household, in my twenties I spread my wings and set off in
an exploration of the eastern mystical traditions through yoga,
Buddhism and Sufism.
Having
recently returned to re-examine Christianity I found myself on the
bridge between the different camps, following very much in the
footsteps of Bede Griffiths and Thomas Merton.
Spiritually
and artistically I am fascinated by the infinite: “The wide horizon
and infinite sky,” but always seen from the viewpoint of deep earth
and rock.
The cross, so
symbolically representing infinite ‘heaven’ but planted firmly in
earth and the horizontal arms giving to the world; the human form in
its beauty and sanctity, even when broken on the cross; the
humanness of the here and now and the Christ consciousness of the
transcendent infinite.
In my art I
seek to trap the Light but keep it very much grounded in Life, so
that all may be seen to be blessed with the Light of Christ.
