Hi, my
name is Gwen Lamb. I’m a self-taught artist and have been
painting professionally since 1988. Since my childhood, I have
always had a desire to create beautiful works of art. I enjoy
doing landscapes, because I couldn’t do “people”. My style of
painting utilizes a black background which pulls the observer
out of their world and into mine.
In 2001
while doing a piece for a client, I was asked to include a
shrine, which meant I had to do a face. The shrine proved easier
than the scene. One month later, an intense “feeling” beckoned
to me to paint another larger image. I pushed it aside and
politely said “no”. I didn’t feel worthy for such an
undertaking. The feeling persisted until I gave in, and in the
end proved me wrong.
What has
started as a feeling has been seen in visions and dreams, and
heard in prayer, bringing me into a deeper awareness of the
presence of God. It is through Him, that I pray His children
will be now pulled out of their world and into His.
