I learned to paint and draw at school. I was
blessed with several different teachers through secondary school who
pushed me in different ways.
When I went to college to sit my A levels I
discovered art taught in a way it was not taught at school, and my
little talent was stretched and pulled in ways I hadn’t foreseen.
Father blessed my efforts, and everything fell
into place in time for the exams.
I stopped painting then for about
twenty years.
In October 2006 Father gave me a picture, and
I had to paint it. (I had been inspired to buy some cheap canvas and
paint, so I had everything I needed to do it.) It took about twenty
minutes to do, and that evening I took it to church.
The response amazed me in its positive wonder.
Since then Father has inspired me to paint often.
When I tried “just painting”, the result was
terrible. This confirmed to me that my paintings are God given,
using the skills He planted in me all those years ago for His glory
alone.
