I grew up
wanting to be a photojournalist and even did my work experience
in the photographic department at the local paper. However,
after a close shave with a herd of charging cattle, which
resulted in my camera getting broken, I couldn’t afford to have
it mended and so for years never took a single photograph. It
was only after God called me to Paris as a Youth Pastor that my
love of photography was rekindled. I was working with people
from around the world who were coming and going all the time. I
decided that I needed a camera in order to remember them all in
years to come. I spent my Christmas money on a cheap camera and
surprisingly came up with some quite good results. The rest, as
they say, is… too long a story to tell here.
However,
to bring you up-to-date…
In late
2007 God gave me the line “Putting the word of God into the
hearts and lives of men and women”. Alongside this was the idea
of using my photographs and my love of words to create
photo-posters, cards and postcards with an evangelistic slant.
