Story
behind “Broken Heart”
I was
in Israel in the early 1980’s on a pilgrimage.
The
guide was an amazing Jewish young man who was fascinated and warmed by
Christians visiting Israel. He was a very spiritual man.
On the
last day he told the story of the last supper and said as an allegory
that the bread was moulded in Jesus’ hands into a perfect heart before
he passed it to his disciples.
He
sacrificed His heart!
This
stayed with me for many years, never forgotten. Only recently I felt
that the Lord said to “Paint it now”.
The
image on this page is the result. The bread is “Matzo” bread used in
Passover, with the stripes and piercing and the shape is a heart!!!
Note
that upside down HE is offering the bread to YOU!
Recently we had a communion service in my church and I pulled off a
piece of bread and when I looked, it was a perfect heart!!!!
I just wept!!!!, I wept with Joy and pain.
