Once
when I was at a Christian conference a young man called Tom stopped by
the exhibition and asked me about Lost.
I
explained what it had meant to me,
it was
a day that I lost my faith and utterly freaked out, fear and
hopelessness gripped me as I believed I had to learn to live with out
God because for one terrifying day I didn't believe God existed.
I
looked around me and realised that plenty of people lived without God
too, it was possible but a terrible place of oblivion to be.
Then
that same day God revealed himself to me in a mighty way and all my hope
and faith returned.
Praise
God But I remembered that terror. That place I had been in for several
hours and I painted it. I called it Lost.
Tom
looked at me and said ‘WOW, it means something else to me’, I asked him
‘What?’
'Found'
he said, I didn't get it.
I
asked him to explain it to me. He told me that to him it was the blood
of Jesus that covered the sins of the world because of that cross in the
middle'.
'What
cross'? I said feeling rather stupid. I had after all painted the
picture.
'That
one!!' He pointed to the centre of the painting and there in the
middle was a perfect cross!!!!
I
didn't paint a cross.
I just
stood there staring at my own painting with MY mouth open!!!
And it
spread, people came to the stall to see the painting and hear about
Tom’s version of the meaning.
So now,
I still never know what's going to happen, the funny thing is, I can't
actually paint, I can only paint when the spirit leads, so I'll just go
with that and trust Him. |
